International ice speed skating events timed with MYLAPS

January 15, 2014

Although the Olympic Winter Games are just a few weeks away the regular yearly ice skating events are still taking place, like the ISU World Cup events and the ISU European Championship Allround in Hamar (NO) and the upcoming European Short Track Championships in Dresden (DE).

The ISU World Cup events are a series of 6 events, which take place all over the globe. So there is some travelling involved for the skaters. The last ISU World Cup event before the Olympics was held in Berlin and it took place already in the beginning of December 2013.

The ISU European Championship Allround in Hamar took place just last weekend. Although some favorite skaters did not participate, it was still an exciting event with high quality skating. We want to congratulate the Jan Blokhuijsen (NED) and Ireen Wüst (NED) with becoming the European Speed Skating Champions Allround 2014!

The European Short Track Championships in Dresden are taking place from the January 17th until the 19th. The distances that will be covered are the following: Individual 1500m, 500m, 1000m, 3000m for ladies and men, and a Relay 3000m for ladies, 5000m for men.

In these events the MYLAPS ProChip Timing System in combination with light beams and finish line camera’s is used to perform the timing and provide accurate and precise results.
