Over 70,000 Hong Kong Marathon runners were, for the first time, able to share their achievements on Facebook. They generated a stunning 1.9 million impressions (views) on Facebook. Their social shares on Facebook (before, during and after the race) resulted in an enormous increase of race experience for participants and spectators of one of the world’s biggest marathons. The Hong Kong Marathon used the MYLAPS SocialShares module, which extremely expanded the reach of the event.
With the launch of the compare graph in the MYLAPS Speedhive app, racers get extra insights in their race performance. In the graph racers can compare lap times with other racers and use these extra insights to analyze where they won and lost compared to their opponents.
Malta Marathon decided to use MYLAPS systems to time running events on the islands. Before using BibTag system new timers received extensive training provided by MYLAPS. The training was split into two days. On 9th October the trainees became acquainted with BibTag facts and figures, its components, system setup and decoder settings. The following day they immersed themselves in BibTag software (Timing & Scoring) and they set up their own mock running event.
