How does it work?

The track you’re racing on has a MYLAPS system installed at the start and finish line and at intermediate points along the track. The system picks up the signal sent out by the transponder mounted on your car. This signal is analyzed and lap times measured. The system knows exactly on which lap you are and what your position is. The data is passed on to race officials and is published to your personal MYLAPS account on

More Information

Easy to set up and maintain
The direct power transponder should be installed in the front wheel arch of your car. This should be done at a maximum height of 60 cm (2 ft) above the ground. You connect the transponder to your vehicle’s battery so you won’t have worry about recharging. This makes it the perfect timing device for racers who don’t change vehicles and want a permanent transponder installation. You drive in all weather conditions, so you need a transponder that handles them too. Our transponders are weather and shockproof. It might get dirty over time; use a damp cloth and lukewarm water to clean it.

Warranty included
Each MYLAPS transponder comes with a standard 3-year warranty. This warranty includes repair or replacement of your transponder if any problems occur during normal use; see the manual and terms and conditions for more information.
