Every participant in a race has his own transponder or chip, providing a unique identification. Systems with loops or mats along the course will detect the identification signals resulting in an exact time of crossing at that point in the course, e.g. a start or finish. Multiple detection lines can provide intermediate times.

ACTIVE SPORTS CHIP FAMILY

The chips of the Active sports chip family are used in sports like running, cycling, speed skating, inline skating, triathlons, cross-country skiing, etc. But you can see them also in various other sports like dog racing and lawnmower racing.

The family of active sports chips can be separated into three systems.

MYLAPS ChampionChip system chips

The ChampionChip system is specialized for medium to large events.

		The personal yellow chip can be bought by athletes and can be used in all races and practice facilities using the ChampionChip system
		The white event chip can be used only once. After the race, there is no need to collect the chips. This makes the post race handling easier for large events.

MYLAPS BibTag system chips

The BibTag system is specialized for medium and large events.
The BibTag system combines the chip into the bib start number. Athletes only have to attach the bib to their chest as they are accustomed to, that’s all. High quality timing with minimal pre race and no post race handling make BibTag a very strong timing solution.

MYLAPS ProChip system chips

The ProChip system is specialized for small to medium events.
The red ProChip is a personal transponder used for timing in sports with higher speeds and in sports where small detection loops are preferred. ProChips work on all ProChip systems.

The orange ProChip Flex is a transponder which can be localized for specific locations or can only be used for a certain time with a subscription, allowing for a more flexible deployment.

DETECTION SYSTEMS

The detection systems are the timing lines where the transponders and chips will be detected.

The detection systems for the motorized transponders and the ProChip transponder all start with a decoder. The Car/Bike decoder, Kart decoder, MX decoder, RC decoder and ProChip decoder are equipped with a detection loop, which works as an antenna to receive the transponder signals.

The systems can be connected to the internet to relay the times to the MYLAPS results website.


		The decoders can be housed in the Portable Systems Rack, for indoor and outdoor use in any weather conditions.

MYLAPS ChampionChip systems

The MYLAPS ChampionChip system detects ChampionChip chips. A main systems consists of a MYLAPS Ear which listens to the Controllers. Controllers have control over the attached mats containing antennas to detect the chip signals.

The systems can be directly connected to a computer or by wireless cell phone connection, so you can always have access to the data.

Multiple systems can be used in a race to provide split points.

MYLAPS ProChip Portable Decoder

The MYLAPS ProChip portable decoder is a decoder for ProChips, but fitted in a sturdy Pelican case. This portable version can also be used with the ToolKit software like the other MYLAPS ChampionChip equipment.

MYLAPS BibTag Portable Decoder

The MYLAPS BibTag portable decoder is a decoder for BibTag tags, fitted in a sturdy Pelican case. This decoder can also be used with the ToolKit software like the other MYLAPS ChampionChip equipment.

TIMEPOINT TRAINING SYSTEMS

TimePoint training systems can be installed at public sports areas for active outdoor sports like running, inline skating, speed skating, cross-country skiing and in swimming pools.

Athletes can train any time and their results are transmitted to the internet where they can review them. There are TimePoint systems for ChampionChip chips and for ProChip chips.

SYSTEM ADD-ONS

		The MYLAPS Finish Line Camera registers every finish line pass with high accuracy. The system provides visual proof of close finishes and can act as backup of every finish line pass.
		The easy-to-read MYLAPS Onboard Display provides drivers with a lot of information like race position, official lap times, laps completed and laps to go, gap to the driver in front and behind and gap to the driver in first place.
		The MYLAPS Results Display Application allows you to broadcast qualification and race results to commentators, race teams and the audience. Results can be easily displayed on TV, LCD and TFT screens in multiple locations, including hospitality rooms, paddocks and canteens.
		The MYLAPS Scoreboards TFT works in combination with the MYLAPS Display Application and provides audiences, participants and race teams with live results. You can use the scoreboard to broadcast both event and practice results.

SOFTWARE

		The Orbits4 software combines the functionality of all previous Orbits programs, while adding several new features. Orbits4 is developed for various motorized sports like Motocross, Karting, Car and Motorcycle racing. Developed by MYLAPS’ Software Division, Orbits offers the possibility to time several timelines on your track, adjustable print columns, intuitive wizards for starting grids, merging of races, and championship standings, as well as offering a connection for a separate administration computer for race registration and printing of results. Orbits also stores your track’s fastest lap records.
		The ToolKit software connects to the ChampionChip, BibTag and ProChip Portable Decoder systems. All connected systems can be seen in a clear way and ToolKit can handle the systems remotely.
