The MYLAPS Pro Timing System is trusted by the 24 Hours of Le Mans, NASCAR, IRL, MotoGP, World Superbikes, AMA Pro, Champ Car World Series, IMSA, Shanghai F1 Circuit, Porsche's Leipzig Testing Grounds and many others. These premier race organizations rely on MYLAPS to provide accurate, live split times, pit speeds, speed traps, race results, driver identification and more for the world's most exciting events. The MYLAPS Pro Timing System is customized to meet the specific needs of our pro-level customers including ultra-accurate times to 3/10,000 of a second, as well as custom software and hardware configurations.
24 Hours of Le Mans
At the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the race organizer and timekeeper, the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO), utilizes the MYLAPS Pro Timing System and its MYLAPS Pro DriverID Transponders. These custom transponders identify which of the teams drivers are in the car throughout the race. The driver data makes it easy for fans to keep track of who is on the track and what laptimes they are turning. In addition to the results, the ACO also provides live split (segment) times to race teams and fans via the web and television. An ACO affiliate in the United States, the American Le Mans Series sanctioned by IMSA, relies on the same Pro DriverID Transponders and MYLAPS Pro Timing System for their events which include the 12 Hours of Sebring. The 24 Hours of Le Mans has relied on MYLAPS for official results since 1989.
NASCAR Nextel Cup, Busch and Craftsman Truck Series
NASCAR uses custom features developed by MYLAPS engineers. One of the most recognized improvements includes the Freeze-the-Field functionality built into its scoring software: MYLAPS' Timegear 2. This new feature creates an instant restart lineup when the caution flag comes out based on where each driver is at any given point on the track. Drivers no longer need to "Race to the Yellow", which increases safety for everyone on the track. NASCAR uses the MYLAPS Pro Pit Speed System since the 2005 season. MYLAPS Pro Track Side Units connected to Pro Detection loops along pit row track the speed of each car ensuring everyone is obeying the pit speed rules. NASCAR has relied on MYLAPS for official results since 1996.
Indy Racing League (IRL)
One of America's popular open-wheel racing organizations, the IRL utilizes the MYLAPS Pro Timing System to its full capability. In addition to providing times to the 10,000th of a second, the IRL provides live split times and speed traps from ten detection points around the track. The IRL uses MYLAPS' Timegear 2 software, which keeps track of each detection point and the scoring for each race. Race data from the MYLAPS Pro Timing System is fed live to digital scoreboards, television crews, the IRL web site, and race teams in the pits. Like NASCAR, the IRL uses the MYLAPS Pro Pit Speed system to reduce speeding in pit lane. The MYLAPS Pro Timing System has been in use at the IRL since 1998.
AMA Pro Racing
AMA's timing and scoring staff relies on the MYLAPS Pro Timing System to produce live segment times and accurate results for its professional motorcycle racers. Using the Timegear 2 software and a custom SQL internet module, the AMA streams live results to its web site for fans around the world. AMA's live results application, which is updated every twelve seconds, features interactive content with racer photos, bios, and more.
Professional race circuits around the world
Many track-owners, such as Shanghai F1, Parc Algarve and Paul Ricard, use the MYLAPS Pro Timing System on a permanent basis at their track.
