The Trans Andes Challenge 2012 successfully timed with MYLAPS BibTag System
01/02/2012| The Trans Andes Challenge is an extreme mountain bike race through the rugged Andes Mountains, in the Chilean Patagonia, and without a doubt, a physical and mental challenge. Professional racers strongly compete, but at the same time the amateurs can go in their own pace a event take it as a tour. This exclusive mountain bike race took place in the heart of the beautiful Chilean Patagonia from Jan 23-28 2012. |

| There were 180 racers, they biked in a previously marked route, trials , jeep roads that vary from very simple to very technical parts ideal for MTB. The Trans Andes Challenge, is open to 12 categories divided in teams and individual racers. The minimum age to participate is 18 years old. Within the rules the racers in teams must remain together all the time during the race. They would be penalized if they split. This race was successfully timed by our partner Race Timing with MYLAPS BibTag System, this equipments were subject to extreme weather in the start, split time and finish. The timelines had to be installed in nontraditional places for this kind of equipment, and as well as the tags, which supported 6 racing days with heat, cold, crossing rivers, always in extreme conditions. |
