Atlanta Track Club, the second-largest running club in the United States, partners up with MYLAPS to offer best-in-class sports experiences to members and race participants in and around Atlanta. This was announced today at the MYLAPS Partner Conference in Houston, Texas. Both parties signed a long-term partnership agreement. Atlanta Track Club will also be supported at its key races by The Last Mile Racing, which is also the timer of record at events including the Boston Marathon, the Houston Marathon, and the Chicago Marathon.
Atlanta Track Club is a member-based organization centered around running that delivers world-class events, training programs and community outreach activities to the Metro Atlanta area. Its flagship event is the AJC Peachtree Road Race, the world’s largest 10k, which takes place on July 4. The race has become a citywide tradition in which some of the world’s top professional athletes lead more than 50,000 participants through the streets of Atlanta.
BibTag technology – the standard in sports timing
MYLAPS, founded in 1982, is the inventor of automatic sports timing, and develops technology that is used all over the world, from the Olympics, major marathons, and NASCAR to countless local races. To offer best-in-class timing services, Atlanta Track Club decided to use MYLAPS BibTag technology. This is the standard timing system for mass events with affordable chips and the highest read-rates in the industry. It was used in October at the Chicago Marathon when Kelvin Kiptum broke the world record. The MYLAPS ThinTag is 75% thinner than regular tags resulting in less waste and shipment space, which has a positive impact on carbon emissions.
