MYLAPS welcomes new CEO Camiel Slaats

MYLAPS, the world leader in automated sports timing & live performance insights, is pleased to announce the appointment of Camiel Slaats as Chief Executive Officer. Per November 1st Camiel takes over from Bas van Rens, who decided to leave MYLAPS after 10 years and pursue his lifelong dream of building his own company.

Over the past 10 years MYLAPS has grown from a company of 55 employees worldwide to a group of 150+ professionals. MYLAPS extended our products & services to a strong portfolio of solutions for race results and live progress. Moving forward, the supervisory board is very committed to the future growth of MYLAPS along the paths that have been entered, in close cooperation with our team, partners and customers.

Current CEO of Vingino, former director at Nike

Camiel Slaats is currently CEO of Vingino, the number 1 kids denim brand in Western Europe. Previously he spent 6 years in the Board of G-Star having all geographies report to him. Camiel gained relevant sports experience at Nike where he worked for more than 8 years, holding several senior positions in product, sales and general management including Commercial Director for Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa. Camiel started his career at Procter & Gamble Benelux which he joined after graduating as a Master of Science at Utrecht University in the Netherlands.

Camiel is married and a father of two kids. He’s a sport fanatic, active runner, tennis and football player. To quote Camiel: ‘I’m delighted to join the team at MYLAPS and support our customers gaining live performance insights, this by continuously bringing innovation to endurance sports and motorsports.’

Over the next weeks Bas and Camiel will be working on a smooth transition.
