The EventApp year in figures

International major city marathons like Rotterdam, Athens, Melbourne, Kuala Lumpur and Toronto and exotic events like Curacao marathon and the Maldives Road Race all had one thing in common this year: They saw the need of their own EventApp in order to enhance the experience of their athletes and fans.

Be amazed of the 2016 facts & figures and find out how to benefit of your own App in 2017!

38 million screen views in 90 years of exposure time

This year 120 events used their white-labeled EventApp and combined all apps generated an astonishing 38,000,000 screenviews. The events managed to engage with 1,4 million users and over whole 2016 the average session time of an EventApp user was almost 10 minutes. The 120 events managed to reach a total exposure time with all users exceeding 32,657 days, which comes down to almost 90 years of exposure time for your event and your sponsors!

75,000 downloads for one App

The credits for the most downloaded app go to the NN Marathon Rotterdam, with a total number of  almost 75,000 downloads. The organizer succeeded in making their app the main communication tool. The GreatRun Company in the UK showed their series of events in their own SeriesApp. With their seven events they managed to engage a similar amount of users.

Highest downloads vs. participants

You don’t have to be a large sports event with 20,000 participants to benefit from an EventApp. The following events scored the highest download numbers per participant:

1. World’s Toughest Mudder: 7,6 downloads per participant. 24 hour obstacle race where people followed the race with both LiveTracking and LiveVideo.
2. Challenge Almere (6 downloads per participant). One of the leading triathlons in The Netherlands, where the followers used the app mainly for LiveTracking.
3. 80 van de Langstraat (3,8 downloads per participant). Walking event over 80 km, also during the night, which made LiveTracking extremely relevant.
