MYLAPS and Le Champion extend partnership

After 25 years of cooperation, MYLAPS Sports Timing and sports organization Le Champion have signed a new agreement for 4 years.  This means that all participants of Le Champion cycling, running and walking events until 2024 are ensured of the latest developments in timekeeping, live tracking and personal photos.

The Dutch organizations signed the contract in Alkmaar on Wednesday. Le Champion, the organizer of well-known events such as the Dam tot Damloop and TCS Amsterdam Marathon, makes its competitions more attractive for participants, followers and sponsors. MYLAPS is the Dutch inventor of automatic sports timing and develops technology that is used all over the world, from the Olympics and MotoGP to countless local races.

Focus on innovation and digitization
Ron van der Jagt, general manager of Le Champion: ‘In these unreal times we use the delay at the physical events to accelerate other aspects. In doing so, we are committed to innovation and digitization. The renewed cooperation with MYLAPS is in line with that strategy. For us, digitization is not about automation or efficiency. Digitization is about enriching the experience of our sports events for the participants! With MYLAPS we have been working on improving and innovating for years. That requires intensive teamwork. The fact that we have been working together for 25 years illustrates our core values. We want to be a reliable partner for our relations for the long term.’

Unique collaboration
‘Our 25-year partnership shows that MYLAPS and Le Champion are a great match,’ says Camiel Slaats, CEO of MYLAPS. ‘Le Champion knows better than anyone else what is involved in organizing sports events and what their participants, followers and sponsors need nowadays. We are happy to help with our solutions in the coming four years.’
